電磁誘導の原理によりワイヤレス充電をします。
充電ボードと受信ユニットの両方にワイヤレス充電用コイルを搭載し、送信コイルTxは充電ボードに、受信コイルRxは電子製品の背面に設置し、バッテリーに接続すると、送信側を電力に変換することができます。受信側がフィールド内にある場合、送信されたエネルギーは電流に変換され、充電ボードから電子製品のバッテリーに送られ、ワイヤレス充電を行うことができます。
WPCコンソーシアムが定めたQi規格は充電ボードと電子製品間の送電のための相互接続の基準を定めたもので、多くの充電仕様が定められています。
また、Qi規格には、電子製品に最適なワイヤレス充電パワーを提供するためのデータ伝送仕様も含まれています。
Qi規格は中電力の充電範囲をカバーし、現在、スイーパー、電動工具、ドローンなどのワイヤレス充電に30～65Wを提供しています。
